Historic Acropolis returns to its roots – It’s not just a rally, but a journey into the past along the “backbone” of Greece! 1000 kilometers of racing history, precision, and unmatched natural beauty.
This year’s Historic Acropolis Regularity is not just a test of precision, but a tribute to the origins of the legend. The route revives the spirit of the 1st International Acropolis Rally of 1953, following the paths that established the event as one of the toughest and most captivating in the world.
This year, the rally is based in Lamia and is the third round of the Greek Regularity Championship with a coefficient of 2.5. The total distance is approximately 1000 km, consisting of three legs and including at least 20 Regularity Tests.
The Route: From Pindos to the Acropolis
Starting from Thermopylae with the imposing statue of Leonidas as a backdrop on Friday, May 22, the route unfolds over three demanding legs, crossing through Phthiotis, Evrytania, Karditsa, Arta, Viotia, and Attica. The center of the event will be the iconic Lake Plastiras, a destination that blends historical heritage with unique tourism appeal.
The route then enters the heart of Argithea and the Agrafa mountains, a region with history as deep as its peaks. These mountains remained “unwritten” in Ottoman tax records, preserving their autonomy—something their name itself reflects. Here, crews will face the raw terrain of Greek nature.
The rally then passes through Evrytania, the most sparsely populated and mountainous regional unit in Greece. Known as one of the cleanest areas in Europe, it offers pristine natural landscapes, many of which remain untouched. Along the way, crews will encounter the mythical Acheloos River, Greece’s second longest river, originating in the Pindos mountain range and flowing into the Ionian Sea after a 220 km journey. In ancient times, Acheloos—also known as Aspropotamos—was the most famous river in Greece and was worshipped as a god.
The Finish: Where history meets the present
The rally concludes in the most iconic way: beneath the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis. A symbolic finish where modern racing spirit pays tribute to the legacy of the past. The event will take place on Sunday, May 24 at 18:00.

All categories of FIA Historic cars are eligible to participate. Historic vehicles may also enter outside competition, without timing, to experience the rally and enjoy the route.
